I bought this pan last week and finally have it all cleaned up . But , now that I can see it clearly I still have no idea who made it .

Here are some pics . Tell me what you guys think .

The size number sideways at 3 o'clock gives the impression of Vollrath (the inset heat ring notwithstanding), but if it is, it would have to be a pretty early one. I don't think it is, though.

Doug with the size number at that position , Vollrath was my first thought . But I've never seen or heard of a Vollrath that didn't have the heat ring on the outside edge of the pan .

The long rib on the underside of the handle looks Vollrath too , but the shape of the end of the handle doesn't looks more like a McClary than a Vollrath .

Those rather big and clearly defined spouts kind different too .

Re: This is A show and "take a Guess" Has been solved !

This morning while sipping my coffee I was still thinking about this pan . What Doug had said about it looking like a Vollrath because of the 3 o'clock number position and what I'd said about agreeing with that , but thinking the handle looked more like a McClary .
Then I got thinking , McClary also put their markings sideways on their pans . I didn't have any McClary pans here anymore because I have sold them to collectors , BUT I still have all the photos of them . So I started looking through them to see about the handles . What I found was that not only are the handles a match , but so are those unusual pour spouts a match to the photos of the oldest McClary Spider I had .

So the handle is right , the pour spouts are right and the number is sideways . I'm quite sure this is an early McClary .
