This shop had a ton of Iron!

I found a large antique mall with 90 dealers! Only 4 dealers offered cast iron and one had a wall of amazing cast iron...all very overpriced, but a fun look. The griddle was an unmarked Griswold No. 20. If I tucked my knees under my chin I could sit in it!

It's always fun to look through those booths. They usually are overpriced, but they sometimes have uncommon pieces. A couple of months ago one had a #14 Griswold LBL skillet with lid. He wanted $1000 for it. Sure was nice to look at.

Well, CJ, hope springs eternal! Thanks for the pictures, Nichole. May I ask what part of the country this shop is in? That is one of the most impressive collections of CI I've seen yet! And, maybe it is a collection--with the hope that someone will buy an item and pay for that month's booth rent! (Oops, does that sound bitter?:-P)

very nice collection to look thru. Im not afraid to pay for something I want, if I want it bad enough. If only to day dream tho...........

Nice collection. I agree that the booths with a lot of cast iron usually are the ones with the highest prices. I love seeing a booth with one skillet over in the corner. It usually is priced lower than the ones with a bigger selection.

I live in California. It is a pretty big collection. I didn't know this place existed until this week. It is a huge warehouse type building with a sign stating 'The Trove'. I never knew what it was. There was a notice in the paper about this place having 90 booths inside with all kinds of antique dealers so I excitedly had to check it out. This booth was the largest collection there but so expensive. A small logo Griswold #5 was going for $69.99. A #8 DO trivet (which I need) was $30.00, ouch. I'll keep looking. I saw a smaller booth had some nice stuff for much more reasonable prices. But I enjoyed looking at it all. That doesn't cost a penny.

Where in CA? Roseville? :?:

Yep. From my side of the freeway all I see is that it's a 'Trove'. From the other side, which I rarely find myself, it's clearly 'Antique Trove'. Wished I'd know about it a lot sooner. It so big you could spend half a day going through everything. Only 4 cast iron dealers but still lots of antique stuff, esp old kitchen ware. Here is a look down one long aisle, and they have 6 or 7 aisles like this.
