THOMPSON - MILLER HDW CO Dutch Oven

I recently picked up an old Dutch oven that has a lighter lid than I normally have found with the following cast into it: THOMPSON.MILLER HDW CO on the top and on the bottom: CHARLESTON SC. Above the handle there it says: 1? IN. It is a 12 inch oven. Does anyone know anything about who would have made this oven and about when. It is very interesting to me.

I guess what I found is unique. I cannot find any information on it and no one else seems to have heard of anything either.

May I see the gates. Small or large?

It is a fairly large gate on the lid and on the bottom of the pot. It is approximately 6 inches across.
