Thoughts?

I'm looking at this piece on eBay right now but I'm concerned on the color. It looks reddish to me and I'm not sure if it's fire damage or just lighting. Please take a look and give me some feedback. Thanks

From past experience I would say heat damage. Seller says it has slight wobble which is another indication of heat damage.

That's not heat damage, just bronze-y seasoning color and camera flash. Slight wobble? $100+shipping? Pass.

Thanks for the info MD and Doug. It's hard to tell from a picture you can't hold and examin.

Looks like brown seasoning and very bright lighting to me. I would find out precisely how much wobble/spin it has from the seller before paying that much.

I've done a few pieces with flax seed oil that looked like that in the beginning. Even after a several months of fairly steady use some of them still haven't gone all the way to black.

I wouldn't go near it for that price though.
