Unmarked Favorite with ghost marks? Help ID mold

I recently purchased this beautiful unmarked #8 skillet that looks for all the world to be a Favorite Piqua piece. I already own a Favorite Smiley 8 and a Puritan by Favorite 8 which look almost identical . There are 2 ghost marks on the back, a wedge on top that could be filler for the Favorite logo and a rectangle below which seems too small to be a Miami fill. There are also 2 horizontal marks across the handle ridge near the skillet (see attached pictures) Does anyone have an idea what mold this was made from. Chicago Hardware Foundry maybe, but early after acquiring Favorite? Thanks for any help.

The ones we attribute to CHF usually have the size number in a diamond. But definitely a Favorite pattern that's been altered to unmarked. Hard to say what the lower ghost is; for some time their pans also said "THE BEST TO COOK IN" at that position but it was much wider than that. The marks in the ridge can probably be chalked up to pattern damage from stacking or the like.

Thanks, Doug. It's perplexing to me because it is so obviously a Favorite casting, but the ghost marks don't fit an established trademark. CHF handles are different in addition to the number in the diamond. It is very difficult to read letters inside the blocked out rectangle ghost mark but.....maybe it says
SA--R- Maybe that will ring a bell with a member. Thanks again

The upper ghost shape is consistent with the CHF trademark. Even marked pans often have that outline.

That is absolutely the CHF Favorite logo covered up. The handle type is identical to Favorite skillets and I have even seen the 2 dot thing on some skillets like this. I'm still trying to find one with something below the CHF logo that would fit in that rectangle. Bottom line, this is a fine skillet and I love it.
