I have this waffle iron that is headed for ebay but I have no idea of how to describe it other than to say it is unmarked except for the No. 8 on the iron and what appears to say FAV 8 on the base. Any help????

Many times, close ups of parts leave the most important characteristics out of frame. If it has wood handles and cooling holes in the attachment points, I would say it's an unmarked Favorite Piqua, either by them or made by CHF after they bought out Favorite's tooling and patterns. We don't seem to see marked CHF waffle irons, though. Favorite also used a pattern with similar markings for the Puritan waffle irons they made for Sears. The shape of the area where the TM was removed is also consistent with unmarked Favorite.
