Unnamed Dutch Oven an unusual mark

I picked up this pot a while back and just got it out of the lye bath and rust removal process is when I got to see the 8 with an arrow. It came along with a lid that I'm pretty sure is a Lodge 40s-87 but it doesn't fit this pot securely. I have a Wagner lid that also doesn't fit this pot securely. So I'm thinking it's not a Lodge or a Wagner. I am thinking this might be one of those "QC check the casting" marks.

We ask that photos always include a view of the entire bottom of the pan, including handles, spouts, etc.

Thanks, that makes sense. The pot is a nice thin casting, but a spinner.

and the lid just for checking on my ID as a Lodge.

Sometimes it's the things you don't think are important that are. The pour lip, coupled with the placement of the size number, makes this a BSR. The arrow is odd, but BSR markings prior to the DISA automation era are known to have some oddities. Or maybe it's not an arrow but a buried flush screwhead with a gouge next to it. The lid is Lodge. The BSR lid that goes with the pot will have two lip cover "ears" and also fit a BSR skillet.
