Hi,

I have been using the vinegar solution bath to eliminate rust and I had a question. Can I reuse the same vinegar bath for another pan or do I have a prepare a fresh vinegar bath ? I have a few more pans to go and didn't want to pour the vinegar down the drain everytime.

Thanks for your help.

It should be fine to re-use for as long as it continues to meet your expectations. Personally, I often don't want to use the amount of vinegar-- even at 50/50-- it takes to totally submerge a piece, and instead use a sprayer to apply it full strength, wait 10 minutes, and then scrub/rinse/repeat. I should also note, though, that vinegar is not my primary rust removal solution.

If you were to have a piece that needs both crud and rust removal, would you do the lye bath first?
Yes. Although, more often than not, it's usually one or the other. A good layer of crud keeps rust at bay pretty well.
