Vintage Skillet Unmarked

Found this gem yesterday. 1875 or earlier 11" No. 8 Chef's skillet with pointed double pour spouts. Going to be restored even better and turned into my personal outdoor cooking skillet as it is very lightweight. :D

LMAO! I never thought of the spouts as big ears so it's no wonder I love the skillet. I have big ears too! Haaaaa-Haaaaaa Had another one like this I sold but only a single spout. Wish I could identify these. Thanks for making my day with the big ear comment. Can't stop laughing!

Someone here once referred to an Early Wagner (1890's-1920's) skillet that way and it always stuck with me. As for identifying a maker, that's often impossible with bottom gated iron. There were lots of small foundries in the 1800's and they often made copies of each others' cookware by using someone else's skillet as the pattern.

Welcome to the forum, by the way.

Thanks for the info and the welcome to the forum. I'm attaching some photos of what I did with the skillet today. 1st photo will show before and others the after. :D

Thanks for sharing your skillet with us, Brian. Great restoration too. I love the antique pieces and seeing them "fixed up" is a cheering experience.
