saw this at thrift store today have never seen one with patent applied for on it. any idea about age on this one. notice the ears that keep handle aligned when closed.
That's a later one. Note the block lettering vs. slant. Also the lack of leveling pins-- both paddles in these sets are from the same pattern. Rather than a key on one paddle and an indentation in the other, the prongs keep the paddles from slipping sideways. The ball hinge is also made such that it can be the same on both paddles and not a male/female design. Also, 151N has the no eyebolt coil handle. Pattern 151 is listed on the parts reorder table* of a 1926 bulletin, so at least that early. According to the BB, the p/n 151 paddles were later marked Patt. November 24, 1925. It dates it 1923-1930. P/n 151 paddles are also seen marked Pat'd July 11, 1922.
