Waffle irons

Here is a picture of some of the waffle irons I am working on restoring. They are in various states of being cleaned. It's a daunting task, none have been seasoned yet. I want to replace the lifter rings on the Orr Painter and the one that just says 7-8. I am thinking a stainless steel keyring should do the job. Any other suggestions are welcome.

Bonnie, I vote for steel jump rings that have been seasoned with lard. Queen Elizabeth doesn't look right in a baseball cap.

Most of the hard part has been done already. I just have to tackle some rust spots and season. I am taking a week off work to spend a little time on my hobby. I'm hoping I can get them all finished in that week.

Hilditch, where would I find a steel ring?

Jump rings are typically for jewelry making, so you might find them locally at a craft store. Or there are all kinds of places online to order from.

Thanks DougH. I tried searching jump rings but they are all to small. I tried hog rings but I would have to buy to many to make it cost effective. I put the stainless key ring on it and it looks nice and makes it much easier to use. As a general rule I always shine up my wires anyway. Since this waffle iron will most likely be "re-homed" I will leave it up to the buyer to replace it if they want to. I also started eying the attachment wires on my chain link fence but that seemed like more work than I want to do and I don't want my fence falling over. :-)
