Wagner #10 Skillet Questions from a Newbie

I can't make out the writing... or figure out where it is on the pan... that would give a better idea of dates... arc or straight, high or middle... also thinking it should say 'sydney, o' on there somewhere.
 
Sorry, hard to see on the picture of the whole underside of the pan...

It appears arched, "WAGNER", about 3/4 of the way up. In the close up of the writing you can barely make out the heat ring in the upper right of the picture, if that gives you any help orienting...

I can't make out a Sidney, O but even the "WAGNER" looks worn or faint.

Thanks - that does looks like it, albeit much more worn.

What is the significance of the silver metallic areas - plating?
 
There won't be any Sidney O on that skillet. Yes, it looks like it was plated originally. If it sits flat and you can get it for a good price, it'll make an excellent user.
