Wagner Question

Hello everyone. I am collecting a set of marked Wagners for my wife and I picked up this number three at an antique store. It was covered in crud so I put in in my e bath and when I got it cleaned up I noticed two dots on the back of the handle where it connects to the pan. Also when I flipped it over I noticed that it was raised about three millimeters off the table. It is not damaged and it docent look bent so I was wondering of anyone had any information on these two characteristics. It is actually quite ergonomically comfortable with the slight angle. I attached a photo for reference.

The dots are just another way to identify a particular pattern. If there were more patterns required for a size than letters in the alphabet, other markers were devised. And not consistent across all manufacturers; some used a second letter, etc. There is nothing wrong with the handle; just a design choice.
