Wagner Roaster

Hi Everybody,

I have a question for anyone out there that may know or confirm...

I have a Wagner Ware Sidney -O- 1267E Roaster with a lid that has 5 concentric circles. I believe it to be about 1940-1950. See links to pix of my piece below...

My friend also has a Wagner Ware Sidney O (no period or dashes) 1267A with a lid that has the stylized Wagner Ware logo as well as the letters/numbers "No 7 Drip Drop Roaster". See links to pix of his piece below...

Our question is... are these lids correctly matched era-wise? The bottom of his pot seems to be older than the lid it came with. And, is the lid on mine older than the bottom it came with? If anyone can confirm we'd really appreciate it. I know sometimes tops and bottoms to these roasters can get mix up.

Thx so much Kim

His is the older, both lid and pot, and I think yours and his are also both matches. I have a #10 in aluminum whose pot & lid are marked the same way as his, and have no reason to believe they didn't come together originally. The marking on the bottom is the precursor to the stylized logo, but it was not uncommon for markings to not be updated across the board when changes were made. Since his has the catalog number, I would place it late 1920s. Yours, by the lid, is how they came in the 1940s.
