Wagner Ware Square pan Chicken Fryer

Over the weekend I came across a WW c/n #1400 Square Chicken Fryer w/lid that the person was asking $235 for. I thought that was high and after checking the advance section on eBay I saw two that had sold for around $75 + S&H back in 2015, which would put them at about $100. I currently own the WW 1275-1 & 1275-2 Skillet Oven piece that I cherish as my most valuable CI that I own but I fail to see why so much for the Square Chicken Fryer. Is this pan really that scarce and of that much value? Our BB, P. 236 only has it at around $125 and that is based on excellent condition

In my opinion it's pretty high but you don't see them very often. In my 12 years of collecting I've only seen one set in the wild.

Just did a quick search and found one set that sold for $189 two days ago and and another for $219 back in December both Buy it Now listings. Also found a listing for just a lid that brought $96 with four people bidding at least $75 back in November.

Michael, I'd like to see a picture of yours if you don't mind. I've never seen one (and probably never will).

I saw a square fryer at the place I bought the John C Johnson lid. It's the only one I've seen. I was thinking it was a BSR.

The picture you have posted is not a Wagner square pan. I referenced P.236 of the BB. Your photo looks more like Asian made to.me.

I was kinda thinking BSR, too, by the handle, but theirs have sides that bow out.
