What is this pan???

I know it's New Year's Eve and I should be celebrating instead of thinking about CI, but oh, well....

I saw this pan in a shop today and have no idea what it is. When I saw the number on the back canted off to the side I wondered if it could be an unmarked Vollrath. But the handle has that rib along the back like a BSR.

Hmmm--What is this thing? :icon_scratchchin:

BSR Red Mountain. Markings like this are among the BSR noted on the unmarked ID page.

Donna, just took a quick look at the manufacturers listing on this site; it looks like 1930s-1950s (if I'm reading right!). Other folks here know lots more than I about BSR CI, but I know it is very desirable. I'd love to hear what others think about this pan; it looks nice to me, but I have found mostly Northern US items in my collecting, so am a novice about this ware. Hope your new year brings good luck!

Sharon I live in the south and find more BSR and unmarked Lodge than anything. BSR must have sold sets with 3's,5's,8's. I have several of each size.

Ahh, that's where all the BSR items are. Here in California I have seen a bare handful of BSR items. It seems Griswold and Wagner are in every cast iron dealer and garage sales among a bit of lodge and Favorite P., but I've been wanting a few of those much talked about BSR's. I hear Martins are nice to have too.
