what waffle iron to match this base?

I have a nice low base with bale. I would like to get the two piece waffle iron that would be correct for it. Needs to be a ball socket, Griswold but there is different numbers on the #8 ones out there it seems. I see "Paddles" and irons only without the base on ebay, etc. but want to get the correct one. Here's the base:

Scott, so if a pair of "Paddles" as the seller is calling them (2 piece Iron without the base) listed on ebay and one is a 314 and the other a 315A, are they not the same, a mismatched pair and incorrect? I get that they look like they will work but wanna get it correct.

listing: "Griswold Cast Iron Waffle Iron Paddles No 8 , 314 315A, Base Not Included"

Also there is this 885 which seems to work visually but the chart you sent me to says it is for a low base with handle, not a bail like the one I have. Would that be worth looking at or not to put these as a set?

I just looked at that auction. Those are an exact match. I dont get where he/she got "315A" from. I dont see an "A". I do see 314B though. either way, AFAIK, the "A" and the "B" are just pattern identifiers.

Before makers devised a design for identical paddles which would form an operating set, there were pairs of mirror image paddles (for lack of a better term) which together formed an operating set. Griswold pattern numbers 314/315 are an operating set of #8 irons which would work with a variety of #8 bases, 913, 915, 327 and 328 inclusive. The 885/886 set of irons are also a #8 size set which work with the size #8 pattern number 975 or 985 bases. Since you are starting with a particular base, the paddle sets which will fit and operate with it are either the 314/315 set or the 919/920 set. The letters after the pattern numbers don't matter.

I saw this Wagner waffle iron in a store the other day. I was wondering the same thing because it looked like it had two different letters at the base of the handle. On one side it had a "G" and the other side looked like an "I". Also, the base was being sold separately and I couldn't find any manufacturers marks on it at all. I put the "paddles" in the base and they seemed to fit, but they wanted about $50 for each piece, so I passed on it.

Thanks for the clarification.
