X marked pan

The design of the pattern is much later than one would expect for bottom gate casting technology. That and the sloppiness of the casting and gating are typical indicators of a recast.
 
Doug, thanks for responding. I bought 7 pans from a lady to mainly get this one which had a very thick crust on it. I have several gate marked pans, this one was different. Are we talking about an old recast?
 
A recast could have been made any time after the pan it was copied from was produced.
