Couple photos of the items I won at the on line auction last weekend. One more chef skillet in the oven getting seasoned and the base for the Wagner #8 waffle iron is in the lye tank working on the crud around the bottom of the base. It may be all carbonized and have to use a different method to clean it up. Most are Wagner with one Lodge 3 notch and couple Griswold items. Got 3 sets of Griswold Patty mounds, 2 were in the box, one with instructions. Boxes were in rough shape though.

What's your method for removing stubborn carbon stains?

Been using Carbon Off, thick liquid. Brush on and leave for up to 15 hours. Softens it up enough a dull narrow chisel will take a lot off. If it is real thick stuff like I am running into on a waffle iron base it will take a lot of time and work. I found a couple holes rusted through. Off brand iron so not going to mess with it anymore. Might use the paddles on another base some time.
