Hi all, so happy to have found this group! I know nothing about cast iron cookware and could use some help. I inherited this from a relative. Does anyone know what it is or what it was used for? Thanks in advance!
It's called a French roll pan (think dinner rolls). I don't think C.F. & M. Co. - Providence, RI has been IDed. It could be the initials of names of owners, or it could be someone, last name starting with C and Foundry and Manufacturing. Abbreviations back then seemed more concerned with fitting the space available than clarity.
Could be Ganger Foundry & Machine Co., which was originally known as Cove Foundry & Machine Company in the mid-1800s. But did they use those handles back then?
