Help with ID please

A friend of mine gave me this piece. There are no markings at all on it. It measures 9 1/2 inches across the top and 5 1/2 inches high. Any ideas fellow collectors? Thanks.

Yea that's what I thought Eric, but he told me that that he had the pot for years and only used it for wood chips in his smoker which he left outside which explains the rust. I was going to put it in my electrolysis tank, but didn't want to bother if it was just some home made off brand. It's appears to be well built and heavy.

Hi John,

Since your friend gave it to you, I certainly would make the effort to clean it up and season it, showing appreciation of the gift. You never know what else might show up in the future when a person sees how interested and devoted you are in restoring cast iron.

I certainly like the looks of it.
