I found this small pan in an attic during a clean out. It has Griswold on the bottom. But it looks like it was ground flat. It has what looks like cigarette holders on 3 corners opposite the handle. When I compare the words I can see on bottom it seams to match the Griswold Egg Pan. Size is approximately 5”x5” not counting handle. I cannot find any match on the web or photos. Any ideas! Thanks in advance.

Griswold made a few different ashtrays, and there are also several counterfeit Griswold ashtrays. This one looks like it has a coat of seasoning like someone actually cooked with it. The "tell" to know if it's genuine or not would require cleaning it up to be able to discern a pattern number. If genuine, Griswold would have assigned (and inscribed) a pattern number different than that of the egg pan. If it does indeed say egg pan on the bottom, that would pretty much confirm a fake.
