This Went for a Lot!

I saw this pan on the Goodwill site and was told it was a Lodge (the L) and that it was NOT a military pan (which was what I thought the US meant.). It went for $82, more than most Griswolds. I was surprised--was that because it was unusual? Or because it was so big?

Donna, probably because it was big. Or maybe because somebody 'thought' it was unusual? That is actually a fairly common skillet, at least around here. That price is not too far off. The cheapest one I've seen was $75 (before any haggling), but most of them are priced at around $100, sometimes more.

That's a monster of a pan (I would have paid $82.00) The largest one I own is a #10 --Is it very heavy or a well-balanced older pan ?
